Spring fever

I had a taste of spring this week.  It’s kind of chilly again now, but at least I know it’s around the corner!

  1. First up, your punny animal name: Moose Springsteen. (Or Goose Springsteen, if you prefer.)
  2. It’s almost spring – time to spruce up the outside of your home with some new flowers. (Whatever you choose, do your homework to make sure it’s safe for your pets!)  Park Avenue Chihuahua recently posted about an interesting option – a Chihuahua topiary!  Apparently if you’d like to decorate your yard with botanical canines, there are a lot of options out there.  Check out these Bowzai shrubs, for example.
  3. After a little more digging (wordplay!), I found some other puppy plants out there.  At least one site, GI Designs, seems to offer a variety of pet topiaries.  (You can find the selection here.) These things look a bit like Chia pets on steroids.  Honestly though, I do think this little terrier topiary is a bit charming.  Okay, okay… I’m rethinking my stance here, and may now really want one.
  4. In any event, these topiaries pale in comparison to the giant Puppy created by artist Jeff Koons.  For more information on Puppy and his world travels, check out this slideshow.
  5. You’ve probably already guessed that I have springtime on the brain.  Accordingly, I really enjoyed this list of the best places to see millions of spring flowers.
  6. On an unrelated note, you know how much I love the cone of shame.  So I have to advise you to enjoy these photos of 20 dogs wearing the cone of shame.  (Maybe we could say that the cones remind me of flowers?  Sure, let’s go with that.)

Finally, today’s video offering showcases a puppy discovering the wonders of spring:

Oops… wrong kind of spring.

Anyway, before I go, I’d also like to send a big thank you to All Things Dog Blog for honoring us with the Stylish Blogger Award.  Go visit and say hi!

  1. Oh, I'm liking that terrier topiary!

That little Cooper was so brave, he just kept going back for more … I could've done without that ladies toes, though!

Some fabulously wealthy person has a Jeff Koons Puppy in their yard – I think it's Stephanie Seymour and her husband, Peter Byrant.

  2. I'm laughing so hard, my tummy hurts. That is a killer vid! The funniest thing – at some point, I said, "WHAT are you doing, puppy?" and talk about timing, the pup stopped and looked at ME! BOL love this so much 🙂

  3. AWESOME. Thanks for that video. I'm with Cooper; springs sticking out of walls ARE weird. I only wish I could tilt my head and look that darn cute!

  4. I have Spring on the brain too!
Thanks for the laughs! You have a wonderful way of making me smile!!!

    Congrats on your award:)

  5. That video is hilarious! And I now really really want a puppy topiary. Thanks for sharing your spring fever. Banjo & Millie have got it bad too!

  6. Moose Springsteen? Love it! I so understand the Spring on the brain thing. I had that too – last week, when we were in the 50's. This week? Not so much. Snowstorm on Tuesday and 30's all week and weekend kind of took that away. 🙁 But, I do enjoy you bringing it back for me. 🙂

BTW – Are you behind Don't Shop, Adopt! ? I like the concept a lot. They have the same background as your blog, so I just had to ask.

  7. That corgi is adorable! We had a long earred fuzzy rabbit that LOVED to play with the door stop. Dwaanngggg all as he bashed it over and over for hrs. That rabbit was better house trained then Becky 0.O

  8. OMG, that video reminds me of a kitten I had when I was a kid. Snowball was a foundling barn cat we brought home and absolutely *loved* the springy door stop! She placed with them so much that we had to take them off the walls 'cause waking up at 5AM to "sproinging" just isn't cool.

However, what IS cool is the linky luv! Thanks baby 🙂

  9. I'm glad you guys enjoyed the spring video as much as I did! Cooper really is adorable.

Chandra – so cool! Can you imagine having a giant Puppy in your yard?

melf – We currently have a dusting of snow here. No fun. Oh, and I'm not behind Don't Shop,Adopt. I didn't realize we shared the same blog background. Neat – I do love their concept!

Miss Kodee – how cute that your rabbit played with the door stop too!

Karen – I've heard of others having to remove all of the door stops too. Bella just ignore them… would take away from her nap time, I think. You're welcome for the linky luv! 🙂

  10. I have 3 puppies they are very small just like kids, super cute, cuddly, and sweet, but everyone wants a puppy will suggest many go for istillwantmorepuppies.blogspot.com and buy.
