#K9Kamp: Hold on a doggone minute

Wow… we just finished the third K9 Kamp challenge. How did that happen? I guess time does fly when you’re having fun.

This week’s challenge was called Just One Doggone Minute to Win It. This challenge recognizes that sometimes life gets in the way of staying fit. However, we all have some free minutes in there, so Kampers were encouraged to find a way to make those minutes count! Read on to find out how we did…

How did Bella and I make those minutes work for us? Well, of course there were some games of tug. (It wouldn’t be K9 Kamp if Bella didn’t work rope into every challenge. Speaking of, I saw a post yesterday about incorporating rope into your decorΒ and I couldn’t stop giggling. Bella’s incorporated plenty of rope into my decor, but I don’t think that’s what they were talking about. Oops… better get this post back on track.)

Anyway, in addition to the aforementioned rope, we found a few other ways to make our minutes mean something. I encouraged Bella to follow me up and down the stairs while I was doing laundry on Sunday. We played a few games of keep away. As for me, I tried to remember to add exercise to my downtime. For example, I did some sit-ups while watching TV. Bella didn’t mind me coming down to her level – it gave her a great opportunity to lick my face while I was trying to do them.

She simply refuses to go to Ropeaholics Anonymous.

Want more tales (and tails) from Kamp? There’s a doggone blog hop happening today – check it out below.

Tomorrow, challenge #4 will be announced – so make sure to swing by Kol’s Notes andΒ Peggy’s Pet PlaceΒ for all of the details!

  1. I always forget the kamp challenges. πŸ™ It sounds like you had a great time and really did well with this one.

I’m picturing the ways Bella has decorated with rope and getting a case of the giggles. πŸ™‚

  2. I bet Rita would love it if I incorporated more rope into our “decor” – at least the way you and Bella have done! Your post made me realize she doesn’t have any rope toys! Going to have to remedy that right away.
As for me, I spent my minutes doing something to make my hubby happy. (No – not that!)

  3. LOL! I had to laugh when you made the rope comment. I am sure Bella wouldn’t mind you incorporating a little rope into your decor as long as you make it at her level. πŸ™‚

Also laughed about Bella licking your face. I just posted a video this week that showed a woman trying to Yoga at home while her two dogs wrestled around and underneath her. It was quite humorous. Guess they just want to be near us.

Love the idea of running up and down the stairs with the dogs. I do that with Jasper too. I have also attached Jasper’s leash to my waist while mowing the lawn (okay that was mostly because he wouldn’t stop barking at the neighbors, but it was still exercise!). I would try with Daisy and Lady, but they would be too scared.

  4. LOL! Decorating with rope. Yeah, I get that. I also get decorating with stuffies, bones, treat-dispensing toys, and pieces of kibble. Now all I need is the rest of the world to catch on to this fad. Then I’m all set.

Desmond thinks I’m playing when I do on-the-floor workouts. It’s always quite a scene.
