In which I want to buy all the things…

This past weekend, I attended the Super Pet Expo in northern Virginia. I actually ended up going twice. On Friday, I went with a few friends to do some shopping. Then on Sunday, I volunteered at the Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) dog booth.

I’m full of post ideas after this weekend. Today, I thought I’d start by sharing the damage the expo did to my pocketbook. I managed not to buy all the things, but I did buy a few. Prepare for an onslaught of photos…

Every year, I end up buying something from the Sara England Designs booth. I’m a big fan. I already have a few of her paintings (similar to these three paintings – mine feature a cute Bella-esque dog that I couldn’t seem find on the website) and have given a few as gifts, and own some coasters as well. This year, I picked up a new painting and another set of coasters. Given that I already have a few paintings that remind me of Bella, this year I chose one that looked kind of like Tavish.

Aren’t they the cutest? Once I saw the Rescue Party, I was sold. (I may have convinced one of the other volunteers to go check out this booth, and she also came back with a bag full of goodies.)

After that, I swung by the abc Pet Wear booth to pick up a bandanna for Tavish, so that he and Bella can show their team spirit together this fall.

Up next, the fashion focus continued. Bella has so many collars, but Tavish has only three. So I picked up a new one for his collection from Clara’s Collars.

Finally, no trip to the pet expo would be complete without some treats for the dogs. (Especially since they could care less about the other stuff I bought!) I picked up some “fast food” at Annie’s Pooch Pops.

So, there you have it – my pet expo shopping haul.

  1. Sounds like a good time and you have some great finds! I really need to get into collars for the dogs. I have a friend who has a collar for every occasion, but I still only have four for Delilah and three for Sampson. 🙂

    • I’ve gotten better about it. My friend has matching collars and leashes for almost every holiday/season, but I have a very random collection. (We also just use a plain leash, so it’s only the collar that changes.)

  2. Now I feel like a bad pet mom… Cleo has a single collar! I comfort myself with the thought that it has reflective stripes, which make me think she’s running around with racing stripes.
