When woofing worlds collide

Bella wasn’t the only furry family member at our holiday celebration. Her “cousins” were also there to open presents and beg for ham.

It’s always nice to have an overload of cuteness on hand Christmas morning, although it can be stressful if the pups decide to engage in some holiday bickering. However, I’m happy to report that last year’s peace treaty was still in effect.  All in all, it was a lovely visit.

You didn’t think Bella would let me leave her out, did you?

Did your dogs have any “cousins” come to visit?  If so, how did it go?

  1. i love getting desmond together with his doggie BFFs! we got to see his cousin mozart the pomeranian. desmond chased him around for a little while–not nearly as long as usual–and then they both pretty much ignored each other. a vast improvement over desmond's usual plan of stalking mozart for hours on end.

  2. So for one day your blog was "I Got More Puppies" instead of "I Still Want More Puppies?"

Glad you had a happy holiday with your family. Sounds like Bella was a perfect hostess.

  3. Hound Girl – I was glad I managed to catch that moment!

Jen – I can imagine that slobber would be a deterrent!

Bassetmomma – Glad to hear that the cousins got along well!

Lauren – Sounds like things went well. ๐Ÿ™‚

Pamela – I think it'd still be "I Still Want More Puppies." After all, could I ever have enough? ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Love the photo of Nibbles! Cosmo's spending his holidays hosting his pal Susie. Susie keeps trying to hide Cosmo's toys behind the curtains. But Cosmo doesn't seem to mind!

  5. LOL at Nibbles drinking out of a cup. What a pretty little thing, too.

Unfortunately, our Bella can't play with her cousin Thor because she's afraid of him and he could toss her like a hacky sack if she cranked at him the way she does most dogs. ๐Ÿ˜‰ She gets to celebrate the holidays with her human cousins though and that's a pretty big adventure in itself. ๐Ÿ™‚

LOVE the tinsel on Bella's head. ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Glad I stumbled across your blog–I have a beagle that looks a lot like Roscoe. And my beagle, Seamus, would have loved to join in begging for ham. It's what beagles do.

  7. Bella is as cute as ever. And it looks like Nibbles shoulda been called Sippers :). Merry Christmas and THANK YOU for the fraggles!!!! I love it.

  8. So glad everything went so well. Hope you and Bella had a good Christmas.

Psst…love the post with Bella under the tree! ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Sadly, all of Shiva's cousins live to far away. So far, that she's never gotten a chance to meet them. So I love seeing these photos of Bella's canine relatives and I am very glad everything went so well for all!

  10. the more, the merrier! Ellie got to play (kind of) with my mom's three dogs, then BF's brothers' two dogs all in one day!

  11. We left the dogs home on Christmas Day, but the day after Christmas, Bunny and Kuster went to visit with us at my mom's house and hung out with Jimmy and Mya. Unfortunately, Bunny was also traumatized by one of my mom's cats! lol

  12. Usually the fur kids get along pretty well because there are more important things on their minds. You know: begging here, begging there, begging, begging, everywhere!

  13. Toby didn't have any cousins visit. Mostly, because my aunt has two cats, who are not fond of Toby. Last fall I was holding Toby and my aunt was holding one of her cats and Toby decided to lick Zack right up his face. Zack freaked out.

Needless to say since then, when we go there Toby stays in his crate. And, my aunt doesn't bring the cats up here.

  14. Oh AJ! Your pictures are awesome! LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!

I decided to leave my fur kids at home this year since my brother was bringing his dog and my mom has her own Sheltie. She doesn't have a large home and it would have been chaos. It was actually quite nice and my dogs were less stressed too. So glad the peace treaty held!

  15. Diane – I'm glad to hear that Susie & Cosmo are having fun!

Leslie – Thor? That name alone suggests he's a big pup. ๐Ÿ™‚ (Although I once knew a JRT named Zeus. It was oddly fitting.)

Teresa – So nice to meet you! Beagles & ham do go together quite well, don't they?

Wes – I'm kind of digging the name Sippers… glad you liked the Fraggles! ๐Ÿ™‚

K9 Katastrophie – It was definitely more fun than one of our previous visits where they were on edge the whole time!

    24 Paws – You too!

Kristine – Bella's are a bit far too (6 hours) so we don't get to do it all that often, unfortunately.

rumpydog – I hope she's making it up to you with lots of good treats!

Stacy – Sounds like so much fun!

houndstooth – Oh dear… poor Bunny!

Pat – The chance to focus on food instead of each other definitely helps!

Michelle – Toby's plan sounds a lot like Bella's. She likes to like everything (and everyone, including other animals) too!

Peggy – I always kiss Bella even if she's not under the mistletoe. LOL.

Mel – Thank you! Totally understand on leaving the pups at home. Sometimes that's the best plan for everyone!
