I have a video to share with you today that is beyond charming. However, after watching it, I was reminded about that pesky Goofy-Pluto conundrum.
They’re both dogs, but they are so very different. Goofy acts like a person, and he’s basically accepted as such by the other anthropomorphized animals populating that world. How does he co-exist with Pluto, a dog who acts like a traditional dog? Is it awkward when they hang out? If you really think about it, cartoon doghood is a complicated business. We may never know the answer.
Anyway, here’s the video that inspired all of these deep thoughts.
Apparently, there are nineteen all-new Disney shorts on the way. If they’re all as adorable as this one, I’m in.
Aw, that really was fabulous! Very traditionally Disney but also in some way it felt modernized? It just didn’t feel old. It was great. Thanks for sharing, I look forward to seeing the rest of them.

Well, duh. Dogs that wear clothes are human. Dogs that don’t wear clothes are just dogs.
But now I’m wondering about some of the fashionplate dogs I saw at BlogPaws, like Carma Poodale and Sadie. Hmmmm.
BTW, the short was cute. But I don’t think it was hand drawn which is always a special treat.

And I agree… I miss the hand drawn stuff too.
Well now, that explains why I always LOVED Pluto but and was freaked out by Goofy – I thought he was creepy.

Well when I was young watching Disney I never really thought about Goofy and Pluto being ‘different’ but now my whole world has been turned upside down! Thanks for that! 😉

Well we are huge Disney fans here! And this is what I think, Goofy wears clothes so he is a “people” and Pluto is Goofy’s “pet” 🙂 and I had not seen that short, so very cute.
Like Donald Duck not wearing pants isn’t weird, either. The Wonderful World of Disney…

Ha! So true… and then he always puts a towel around his waist after he showers. I mean, we’ve already seen it all at that point, Donald.
I loved that the short was in french – too cute!! My husband has always wondered why Donald Duck has a towel on when he gets out of the bath tub, but he never wears pants – so strange 🙂
