Obviously, I’m a bit behind. Nonetheless, I’m finally sharing the roundup of some of the posts I enjoyed in December, which seems so very long ago.
(Don’t take it personally. I currently have seven episodes of Nashville, thirteen episodes of Arrow, four episodes of Dallas, and twelve episodes of Boardwalk Empire waiting for me on my DVR… not to mention the shows that have more than one word in their titles.)
As usual, my monthly roundup is just a little bit late. (You also may have noticed that No Frown Friday was missing yesterday – I’ve been having some technical difficulties, so you’ll get that soon as well. I promise.)
Anyway, I hope you don’t mind too much. Enjoy this roundup of posts from November that put a big smile on my face:
Why I’ll Never Own a Dog Again from Something Wagging This Way Comes – You know I love thinking about words. How do you describe your relationship with your dog? (This post in response from Rescued Insanity is pretty interesting too.)
295/365: Babushka? from Life with LuLu & Wally Too! – Honestly, this one just cracked me up.
As I recently mentioned, I’m well behind on my monthly roundups. However, let’s just consider this belated October installment an early Christmas gift. (By that logic, I’m actually ahead of the game.)
Anyway, I believe that Buddy the Elf would totally support me sharing these posts guaranteed to make you smile. Enjoy. If you need me, I’ll be enjoying selections from the four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corns and syrup. Continue reading →
Do you want to be an irritating dog walker? The kind that others see on the street and are immediately annoyed by? If so, today is your lucky day!
For one day only, I’m offering a free primer on how to be an annoying dog walker. By employing these seven simple tips, you too can be the bane of your neighborhood! (Keep in mind, to really be the most irritating person on the block, you should use all of these tips in combination with each other. One or two just won’t be effective enough.)
3 Ways I’d Really Change Dog Adoptions from Something Wagging This Way Comes – Yet another thought-provoking post from this fantastic blog. It really had me pondering the role of good communication in improving the process.
I am Genetically Altered – Given that the title of this blog was inspired because of my response to the “when are you having kids” question, I absolutely adored this post. I’m much more likely to turn into mush at the sight of a puppy than a baby. How about you?
If Dogs Spoke English from Something Wagging This Way Comes – It’s a good question. What do you wish you could tell your dog?
I’m breaking July’s monthly roundup into two installments – once I finally started catching up on my blog reading, the list ended up being much longer than I expected. (Seriously, I’d appreciate it if everyone would dial down the quality of their posts – it would make my life a lot easier.)
Before we get started with the first installment, I just have to share this post from Text From Dog. I just could not stop laughing after I saw it.
Anyway, without further ado, here are thirteen more posts that made me smile in July. Hats off to these awesome bloggers…
Well, a new month is upon us, which means that it’s time for another monthly roundup. In light of the fact that it’s an April roundup, let’s just say I’m showering you with some awesome blog posts. No umbrella needed. Without further ado, here are some of my favorite posts from the last month:
The worst thing my dog destroyed was… from No Dog About It – This post had me strolling down Memory Lane, remembering when my childhood pup Scotti demonstrated what she thought of my reading choices.
Be a Billboard for a Good Cause from Daley’s Dog Years – This post inspired me to purchase a shirt. That’s how good it is. (Seriously though – an adorable shirt and spreading a good message? You can’t beat that.)
It’s a tough task, actually. There is a ton of great content out there in the pet blogging community.
The posts below all have one thing in common – they make me laugh or smile (one of those really big smiles). There are many beautiful, touching, and thought-provokingposts that touched my heart this year. However, today I felt like aiming for tears of laughter or joy rather than the other kind. Hope you don’t mind.
It was a long year. I’m sure there are some others I adored that slipped my mind when writing this post. (Perhaps one of my 2012 resolutions should be to do a better job of keeping track of my favorite posts. You may notice that this list skews toward the more recent entries.) In no particular order, here are 22 posts I loved this year…
Dog a Day Project – Why I Don’t Have Kids from Doggie Stylish – I’m just going to start replying to everyone who asks me when I’m going to have children by emailing them a link to this post. (Don’t get me wrong – I don’t know what the future holds. However, I tend to think people should mind their own beeswax and stop asking.)
From the DDY Digs Desk from Daley’s Dog Years – I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m including this post partly because of the Ryan Gosling photo.
Why 22? I have no idea. I feel like this list could have gone on forever (for example, I wanted to include a post from BZ Training, but I just couldn’t pick a favorite photo shoot, so I’m cheating and linking to the whole blog here). Finally, I just held an intervention for myself, cut myself off, and sent myself to list-making rehab.
Today’s links are even more random than usual, if that’s possible. Full disclosure: I considered doing a Twilight theme. The punny names were especially easy – though I would not be surprised if someone already has a pet named Robert Cattinson. (Yup. Someone beat me to it.)
Anyway, although I am going to see Breaking Dawn tonight (I didn’t love the book, but I can’t resist a movie night), I decided to spare you from my other puns (such as Edward Seagullen). You’re welcome for the random linkage instead…
So, I remember when Passions had that weird talking doll. (Anyone else? I didn’t watch that particular soap opera, but I would occasionally pass it when channel surfing and get creeped out.) It appears that one soap opera has decided to top that storyline – it’s a talking dog trying to convince a talking baby to hand over some hidden paternity test results. (Don’t worry, I’ll give you a few minutes to read that completely bonkers sentence a few more times.)
In other “things no one else probably remembers” news, 2gether (MTV’s parody boy band from the ’90s) is considering a reunion. U plus me equals us, baby. (Calculus.)
Speaking of TV… I’m not normally one to share ads, but I giggle whenever I see this Microsoft ad. After all, I was the type of kid who would have happily made a
PowerPoint presentation about why I needed a dog. (I’m also reminded of
Marshall’s chart and graph obsession on How I Met Your Mother. I can totally relate.)
Another topic that makes frequent appearances? Space. So, without further ado, I give you this week’s video: Corgis… in… space!
(If you can’t get enough space, go watch Nyan Cat too. Someone should come up with Nyan Gosling Cat. Get on it, Internet.)
That concludes your regularly scheduled linkage. Before I go, you should know that a pretty cool event is going on in blogland this weekend – it’s a Blogpocalypse! A group of wonderful bloggers will be participating in a blogathon to raise support for various causes. I hope you’ll check them out. (If you do, you might even see a guest post from me over at My Brown Newfies!)
